Mammoth Trailfest 26K 2026 | Race Recap
The Mammoth Trailfest 26K presented by CRAFT, the final day of the 2026 festival. 16 miles and 3,900 feet of climbing from the village of Mammoth Lakes, past Twin Lakes, up the Dragon's Back to the 11,053 foot summit of Mammoth Mountain, down past McCoy and the downtown trail to the finish. Ares Reading wins the men's race in 1:59:12, breaking two hours after taking the lead near the top of the Dragon's Back. Adam Sjolund is second in 2:01:05, his second runner-up finish of the weekend. Matt Daniels, Reading's coach, is third in 2:03:10. Cameron Goldstone fourth, Joshua Ernst fifth. Erin Moyer wins the women's race wire to wire in 2:17:52, the third fastest time ever run on the course, two days after winning the Dragon's Back Ascent. Tilde Bångman is second in 2:22:31 in her second trail race. Liz O'Connor runs down 13-year-old Pema Franchi Antelme before the bridge for third in 2:30:02, with Pema fourth in a seven-minute PR and Claire Nelson fifth. The first para prize purse in trail running: Dani Aravich and Jared Ewing win the para races. Finish-line interviews with the podium and the para winners.
